Synopsis:
 

 “Sea Shoes” is a fictional story intended for young children about the travels of a pair of shoes.  A little boy and his father are walking on the beach, and the boy decides to remove his shoes and walk barefoot.  Suddenly, his shoes are swept out to sea and they begin an amazing journey.  Many animals find the shoes and attempt to use them.  A starfish cannot fit them on his arm.  The dolphins play with them, but cannot ring them on their fins.  The octopus cannot eat them.  The walrus cannot fit them on his tusk and the polar bear cannot fit them on his paws.  The shoes travel through beautiful lagoons, stormy seas, shipping lanes and icy waters.  When a family of whales happens upon them, the parents make up a magical song about the adventure.  Then, many years later, a man and his young son are walking on the beach.  The man remembers when he used to walk with his own father.  The shoes wash up on the shore, and the little boy is thrilled to find that they fit him perfectly.

Volunteer Experience: Sunday School teacher, videographer and event photographer at St. Mark’s Episcopal church 13 years; Girl Scout troop leader; Cub Scout den leader; Boy Scout committee member; former vice-president and board member of the Silver Hill Neighborhood Association; former president of the Tres Manos Joint Advisory board; Thunderbird Little League coach, scorekeeper and board member

The book need to marketed as a picture book along the lines of “Time for Bed” by Mem Fox.  A later, smaller version could have a “Sea Shoes” necklace attached to the front of the book.  The second and third book in this series could be marketed the same way.
